No-Yeast 5-Ingredient Flatbreads (Roti/Chapati Style)

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour (or all-purpose flour)
  • ¼ cup plain yogurt
  • ¼ cup water (approx.)
  • 1 tablespoon oil (plus more for cooking)
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour and salt. Add the yogurt and 1 tbsp oil. Mix with a fork.
  2. Gradually add water and knead for 3-4 minutes until you have a soft, non-sticky dough.
  3. Divide the dough into 4 equal balls.
  4. On a floured surface, roll each ball into a thin, round circle (about 6-7 inches wide).
  5. Heat a non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Place one flatbread on the hot pan.
  6. Cook for 30-40 seconds until bubbles form, then flip. Cook the other side for another 30 seconds, pressing down gently with a spatula.
  7. Optionally, drizzle a few drops of oil around the edges for a crispier texture. Repeat with the remaining dough.
